JIM-LET FOX-TROT

This is the most genuine of the Dry & Tonics, and my own tribute to the sublime Gin & Tonic. It has its own rhythm.
First prepare a Gimlet in a mixer glass with ice: 2/3 gin and 1/3 Rose's lime juice.
Stir for about 15 seconds and pour into a container with a cover. Place in the freezer until frozen. Break the ice (by wrapping it in a cloth and hitting it against a hard surface) until crushed. Then, in a tall, thin-walled, wide-topped glass (it tastes much better this way), serve 7 ice cubes and one small bottle of tonic water.
Add 6 tablespoons of the prepared Gimlet. To finish, grate a lime over the top. A stirrer stick allows the recipient to play with the drink and mix it at will.
And don't forget to enjoy yourself. There's no need to follow outdated rules. Prepare your drinks with a smile and surprise your partner. Add music by Björk, Moby, or a remix of Nina Simone and some candles, and relax.
